Street Stories

Street Stories is an Augmented Reality Art Trail across Leicester city’s empty shop windows. Working with ten local artists using a range of styles, the project celebrates the innovative achievements of pioneering people from Leicester, whilst improving the appearance of empty shops and turning them into points of interest.

The artwork ‘Sir David Attenborough and Endangered birds on the Red List’ highlights two endangered birds, the Yellowhammer and the Curlew. These birds are currently on the red list as they are of the highest conservation concern. If we are to listen to Sir David Attenborough’s warnings about the future of our planet and want to see bird population numbers thrive, action has to be taken, otherwise, future generations might never know the enchantment of the natural world as we do.

Follow the trail of artworks around the city and bring them to life with multi-sensory animations triggered by a free smartphone app. Find the artwork at 15 Market Street Leicester LE1 6DN.
